New Food Pantry: Anaheim High School’s “The Market at Anaheim”

Students, families, staff and the Second Harvest team came together, and we made it happen!

On September 25, 2023, Anaheim High School unveiled the opening of The Market, the school’s new food pantry. Watch video here.

Anaheim HS Pantry Ribbon Cutting 1

This is Second Harvest’s second high school pantry and seventh permanent school pantry in Orange County.

To celebrate, Anaheim High School hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony which consisted of speeches from Second Harvest’s Director of Programs & Services alongside students and staff. It also provided tours of the pantry and the Community Schools Resource Center at Sycamore High School.

The Market at Anaheim is slated to feed 120 families every week. The pantry will be stocked with a variety of non-perishable food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, and other essentials, all available for students, families, and the community Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings. We believe that access to proper nutrition is essential for academic achievement, overall health, and personal growth.

Director of Programs and Services at Second Harvest Food Bank
"Our goal and hope was to create food distribution spaces where people felt welcome and cared for by their community, in addition to creating easy access to nutritious foods. We have no doubt that The Market at Anaheim will continue that original vision and be a place for your school community to come together and support one another."
