New Food Pantry: Anaheim High School’s “The Market at Anaheim”
Students, staff and the Second Harvest team came together and made it happen!
On September 25, 2023, Anaheim High School celebrated the launch of The Market, a new addition to the growing network of food pantry Anaheim locations.
This is Second Harvest’s second food pantry in a high school and seventh permanent school pantry in Orange County.To celebrate the food pantry, Anaheim High School hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony which consisted of speeches from Second Harvest’s Director of Programs & Services alongside students and staff. It also provided tours of the pantry and the Community Schools Resource Center at Sycamore High School.The Market at Anaheim is slated to feed 120 families every week. The pantry will be stocked with a variety of non-perishable food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, and other essentials, all available for students, families, and the community Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings. We believe that access to proper nutrition is essential for academic achievement, overall health, and personal growth.
