Celebrating 10 Years of Mobile School Pantries

A Decade of Nourishing Orange County

Heideman - Second Harvest Food Bank - School Mobile Pantry Distribution
Heideman Elementary – Mobile School Pantry Food Distribution

September marks a significant milestone—10 years since the generosity of donors led to the opening of the first Mobile School Pantry. What began in 2014 with just 12 pantries has expanded to 76 pantries across 14 cities in Orange County.

Mobile School Pantries offer local families access to farmer’s market-style food distributions conveniently located in their neighborhood (and oftentimes at their child’s school!).

To date, 22.6 million pounds of food have been distributed through this impactful program.

With 85,000 children in Orange County facing food insecurity, the work of these pantries has never been more important. As the children benefiting today grow into tomorrow’s leaders, the impact of this program will continue to inspire and uplift our community.
