The Food Bank holds several special events and food drives throughout the year which serve as critical sources of funding and food for many of our programs. If you're interested in giving back to your community, sponsoring an event or holding a food drive is a great way to get involved with Second Harvest!

Hunger Action Month
September is Hunger Action Month- a very important regional and national effort that focuses on fighting hunger and raising awareness of the critical problems of hunger in our community. This September, go orange for hunger to raise awareness of this critical issue. Be sure to connect with us on social media to keep up with Hunger Action Month activities. Hunger Action Month is celebrated nationwide and is your opportunity to be a part of a month-long movement that has a real and lasting impact on ending hunger in Orange County and throughout America.
Fight Hunger Spark Change

Give A Meal with Bank of America

This holiday season, you can take action in the fight to end hunger in Orange County, and make three times the difference. Bank of America is partnering with Feeding America's network of food banks, and when for every $1 donated through the Give A Meal campaign, Bank of America will donate $2. To donate, visit BankofAmerica.com/Give and be sure to enter your Orange County zip code and designate your donation to Second Harvest Food Bank.
Spooktacular Saturdays- "Scaring Hunger Out of OC"
When: October 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th
Where: OC Great Park
The OC Great Park's Spooktacular Saturdays are fun for the whole family and the food collected will help feed the hungry. Bring your donations on Saturdays or anytime during the month of October. Spooktacular Saturday hours are 9am-11pm.
Harvesters Fashion Show & Luncheon
When: October 8, 2014
Where: Segerstrom Center for the Arts
Since 1992, the Harvesters have been dedicated to serving Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. The Harvesters Fashion Show & Luncheon is brought to you entirely by many dedicated volunteers, allowing 100% of every underwriting dollar to be sent directly to Second Harvest.
Scouting for Food
When: November 8, 2014
Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will collect non-perishable food from homes around the community and deliver it to Second Harvest.
Izzy and the Candy Palace
This charming children’s book was written by a local nine-year old girl to help feed hungry children in our community. 100% of the profits from every book sold go to support our Kids Cafe program! Visit www.thecandypalace.com to preview the book and place your order.
Fight Hunger with Duke’s Huntington Beach
Choose two courses from the Duo Menu for $21 and Duke’s will donate $1 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Duo menu available Monday-Friday, 5:00pm-6:30pm.

Download the app onto your mobile device, and every time you "tweek" calories from your meal to make it more nutritious, FoodTweeks will make a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County so we can distribute the same amount of nutritious calories to families in need. There is no cost of any kind to the FoodTweeks user, and its a great way to fight hunger in OC!
