The Food Bank holds several special events and food drives throughout the year which serve as critical sources of funding and food for many of our programs. If you're interested in giving back to your community, sponsoring an event or holding a food drive is a great way to get involved with Second Harvest!

I Heart OC - Giving Day

When: April 21-22
Where: Visit iheartoc.org
Orange County Community Foundation is super-charging local giving by hosting Orange County's fist-ever countywide giving day on April 21-22, 2015. The goal of Giving Day is to inspire our community to come together with extra-mile giving in support of the work of local nonprofits. For more information, visit iheartoc.org.  

 

 

Serving Hope Fundraising Breakfast

When: May 21, 7:30am- 9:00am
Where: Newport Beach Marriott Hotel & Spa
A complimentary fundraising breakfast where guests have the opportunity to learn more about Second Harvest's mission, the great work we are doing in our community, and how you can partner with us to make a differences in the lives of OC families. Stamp Out Hunger - National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive

When: May 9
Where: All of Orange County
This largest food drive in the nation helps Second Harvest stay stocked during the summer months when donations of food are usually at their lowest. Mail carriers around the county participate by picking up non-perishable food that residents leave by their mailboxes. Just leave any non-perishable food donations by your mailbox to participate and make a difference for the hungry in OC!

 

 

"Dodge for a Cause" Fundraiser

When: May 9
Where: Merage Jewish Community Center
            1 Federation Way # 200, Irvine, CA 92603
The Orange County "Dodge for a Cause" Fundraiser is more than just a dodge ball tournament. This event consists of 32 mixed teams, prizes for best team costume and overall winner, music, great food, and fun while raising funds to support two great OC causes. Fight Hunger with Duke’s Huntington Beach

Choose two courses from the Duo Menu for $21 and Duke’s will donate $1 to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Duo menu available Monday-Friday, 5:00pm-6:30pm.

FoodTweeks

FoodTweeks is a mobile app that helps people eat better in a sustainable way, while fighting hunger in America. Download the app onto your mobile device, and every time you "tweek" calories from your meal to make it more nutritious, FoodTweeks will make a donation to Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County so we can distribute the same amount of nutritious calories to families in need. There is no cost of any kind to the FoodTweeks user, and its a great way to fight hunger in OC!

 

Ralphs Community Contribution Program

Sign up your Ralphs rewards card online and select Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County as your beneficiary. Participants just need to re-register their card to continue benefitting from the program. Every time you shop at Ralphs and use your rewards card, a portion of your savings will be donated to Second Harvest to help feed the community!
