Emergency Food

Emergency food aid is not just for natural disasters. It’s a U.S. Department of Agriculture program designed to help people who are struggling to get by on low incomes, or after family emergencies or job losses.

We partner with more than 50 agencies in Orange County to supply commodity and other staple foods, free, to people with incomes under the federal poverty level.

We coordinate delivering food to more than 13,000 families from the Emergency Food Assistance Program and the Emergency Food and Shelter Program.

In addition, once a year we can provide pre-packed boxes of 12 staple items to more than 300 nonprofit agencies, who distribute them to more than 22,000 families.
