Q: How do I get started volunteering?
A: The best way to come in and get started is through our Labeling program. We have shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

Q: Can I bring my kids?
A: The minimum age in the warehouse on Saturdays is 14. If your kids are younger than 14, they are welcome to participate in our Harvesting program. Kids of all ages can go out to our field and plant and pick produce.

Q: I have time during the week but can’t commit to every week; can I still help out?
A: Yes, you are welcome to come in and help when you can. Many of our volunteers have other activities, travel, grandchildren, etc. and come in as often as their schedule allows.

Q: Our Bible study meets every Wednesday morning; we’d like to help out one Wednesday a month. Is this possible?
A: We have groups that are scheduled to come in once a month on a regular basis (first Wednesday of the month, last Friday of the month, etc.). Just call the Volunteer Office to work out a schedule that will work for your group.

Q: We’d like to serve food to the needy. How do we sign up?
A: Second Harvest Food Bank is a food warehouse and distributes food to agencies. We do not directly serve meals to the public. For serving opportunities, please check out the OneOC web site.
