Joe Schoeningh has been involved with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County since joining its Board of Directors in 1984. Joe became Volunteer Coordinator on the Food Bank’s staff in 1995. Under his guidance, the volunteer program expanded to provide 55% of its labor, the equivalent of about 40 full-time employees. Schoeningh was appointed Assistant Director in 1999 and named Director in 2003. As Director, he successfully led the Within Our Reach Capital Campaign of $8.5 million to renovate the 120,000 square foot building we operate in today.
